It was a bright and balmy Saturday afternoon in May—the kind of day that feels made for love stories. I was flying solo for this wedding, as Brodie was home soaking up cuddles and keeping our newborn bub safe and sound.
The setting? Breathtaking. A minimalist coastal ceremony space, filled with natural light and perched right by the shore, with the Port of Brisbane stretching out in the distance. It was calm, intimate, and utterly serene.
Setting the Scene with Song
As the guests arrived, I began playing a gentle mix of acoustic classics, setting the tone for what was to be a beautiful and heartfelt celebration. There was a sense of quiet anticipation in the air.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for—word came through that the bride had arrived. Guests were ushered to their seats, and Eddie took his place at the altar, wearing the kind of grin only true love can bring.
A Walk Down the Aisle to 'More Than Words'
For their aisle song, the couple had chosen ‘More Than Words’ by Extreme—a classic filled with meaning and emotion. I’ll admit, I felt the nerves tingle. It’s a beautiful song with some seriously high notes, and I wanted to give it everything I had.
As I gently began to play, Sam stepped onto the lush grassy aisle. The world seemed to pause. When she reached Eddie, he took her hand with such grace and love that everything around them seemed to melt away. I continued picking soft chords as they exchanged vows, and for a moment, it truly felt like even the ocean held its breath in awe.
Moments That Stay With You
Performing at weddings like this is more than just a job—it’s a privilege. I get to do what I love while witnessing real, raw love stories unfold right in front of me. And often, those stories don’t end with the music.
We’ve been lucky to form beautiful friendships with so many of the couples we play for—and Sam & Eddie are no exception. What started as a booking turned into a bond, and we’re so grateful to now call them our friends.
Thank you, Sam & Eddie, for allowing us to be part of your story. Here's to a lifetime of love, laughter, and music.
With love, Brad (and Brodie in spirit) Live Acoustic Wedding Singer | Brisbane & Coastal QLD/NSW.
