Playing Live at the Ekka in Brisbane

We had the chance to play live at the Ekka in Brisbane as part of the Country Music Showdown, and it was an experience we were genuinely so grateful for.

The Ekka is a big, busy environment, so the goal was simple: play well, stay grounded, and connect with whoever stopped to listen. From early on, the crowd settled in. People gathered, kids danced near the stage, and plenty of people stayed longer than they planned to — always a good sign.
While we don’t sit strictly in the country lane, we felt genuinely welcomed on the Ekka stage. The audience was open, generous, and engaged, which made it easy to relax into the set and play naturally rather than trying to fit a mould.

The set felt steady and well-paced. Vocals were strong, the band locked in, and the songs landed the way we hoped they would. Nothing forced, nothing rushed — just good live music in a setting that suited it.
We’re grateful to the Ekka team and the Country Music Showdown organisers for having us, and to everyone who stopped, listened, or stuck around for the set. Playing live at one of Brisbane’s most iconic events was a solid experience and one we’re glad to be part of.
